Wavelength

Meet the demand for data with high bandwidth, point-to-point backhaul connectivity between network points of presence (PoPs). Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology caters to the increased need for high capacity backhaul and reliable performance.

Delivered over Telstra’s reliable and diverse optical fibre network, you can choose bandwidth options for capital city metro areas, along inter-capital routes and in selected major regional areas. 

Bandwidth options include 1Gbit/s Ethernet, 10Gbit/s Ethernet, 100Gbit/s Ethernet, 400Gbit/s Ethernet, 10Gbit/s OTN and 100Gbit/s OTN.

Core restoration

Core Restoration is a new resiliency option for Wavelength Services.

In the event of a fault or fibre cut, the ‘Core Restoration’ feature automatically re-routes your wavelength service to an available intercapital path in the core network.  It leverages the Layer Zero Control Plane Technology and can provide an added layer of resiliency to your network. 

This feature is available on new single access Wavelength service connections with bandwidths of 100Gbps or 400Gbps across 6 intercapital routes. It’s aimed at customers who want to reduce the risk of disruption from outages in the core network and reduce downtime if an outage occurs.

Core restoration is now available on InfraCo Intercapital routes

Core restoration is available from Perth all the way to Brisbane via capital cities Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane. 

There are three intercapital fibre paths: Coastal, Central and Inland that can be used for resiliency.

When the Coastal Core Route is faulty at a location, all traffic between the closest two capital cities, will re-route to the restoration path for ultimate peace of mind.

How it works

In the event of a fault, Core Restoration will automatically restore your services traffic to a pre-determined restoration path.​ The restoration procedure takes between 3-15 minutes and is designed to reduce impacts and disruption to your business, providing you with peace of mind. 

As restoration occurs, you will be kept informed with email notifications. There is no need to report a fault as this happens automatically.​ Traffic is restored back to home path once fault is fixed in the next maintenance window. Typically, this happens out of hours between 12:00am to 6:00am.

Data Centre Interconnect (DCI)

Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) links leading data centres across Australia to provide class-leading inter-capital connectivity to your customers. Delivered over Telstra InfraCo’s secure fibre optic network, DCI gives you low-risk, cost-efficient bandwidth your customers demand. And now you can ‘reserve’ data capacity over any DCI route at a minimal fixed cost. 

nbn POI backhaul

Telstra InfraCo’s nbn POI backhaul solution provides a cost-effective way to transport CVC traffic from nbn network POIs to your points of presence (PoPs).

The 'TW nbn POI Backhaul Service' connects the customer in to any one (or all) of the 121 nbn POI. Customers will choose nbn POI's that cover the geographic area they want to operate within. This connection works between the customer premise or a major Data Centre and allows the customer to set up their own network. From the nbn POI, the customer can then resell nbn access services to end users.
