How InfraCo APIs can benefit you

Higher accuracy and fewer errors

APIs are designed to correct address details, validate product availability and provide accurate pricing inputs - reducing order errors and improving the quality of quotes and service data.

Faster quoting and ordering

Customers can generate quotes, feasibility studies and place orders directly via their own systems, reducing swivel‑chairing and supporting faster fulfilment.

End‑to‑end automation across the service lifecycle

From prospecting to service delivery, APIs apply business rules, collect required data upfront and reduce the number of integration points, which can result in reduced effort and improved workflow efficiency.

Enhanced visibility through timely updates

Order progress, outages, diagnostics, and notifications (push/pull) keep systems continuously aligned and support proactive customer communication.

Stronger service assurance designed to support faster issue resolution

Diagnostics, outage checks, ticketing and service inventory APIs support faster fault identification, automated testing and greater accuracy when verifying service details.

Reduced operational costs and simplified integration

Automation, consolidated API flows (e.g., Prospect‑to‑Service) and reduced manual effort are designed to support reduced integration costs and scalable, long‑term efficiency gains.

Frequently asked questions

An API (Application Programming Interface) is a code-based interface that allows two software systems to communicate with each other. It is the bridge that allows different systems to talk to each other in a safe, structured, predictable way.

What does an API do?

  • Provides a single function that you can use (e.g. check product availability)
  • Can be used to PULL (e.g. order status) or PUSH (e.g. raise fault) information
  • Authenticates user, validates access entitlements, then connects with Telstra InfraCo’s internal systems and returns current information

How can you use APIs?

  • Enroll your developers on to our API developer portal & choose which APIs to integrate into your software systems.
  • Update your own systems to use the information returned by our APIs. This takes around 2-6 weeks (indicative only and dependent on customer systems and resourcing) to develop and test an API.

Our digital infrastructure APIs support quoting, ordering, and service management across a broad range of products, including Ethernet Access, Wavelength, Managed Lease Line, Wholesale Business Internet, Aura services (Aura Wavelength, Aura Direct Spectrum, Aura Dark Fibre), Dark Fibre, Direct Spectrum, and Telstra Wholesale Internet. Select capabilities are also available for Wholesale Business Internet, Telstra Wholesale Internet and Dark Fibre.

Build costs associated with APIs can vary depending on your organisation’s capabilities and size. The cost will depend on whether you have an internal development team or need to bring in an external developer.

The Telstra InfraCo onboarding process is designed to provide customers and partners with a clear, guided pathway from initial engagement through to operational readiness, supporting how you use Telstra InfraCo digital products and services. As part of onboarding, customers are supported with access setup, role and authentication alignment, and integration readiness, including the requirement to provide source IP addresses for security controls such as IP allow‑listing. During development, we provide technical guidance, solution design input, and access to comprehensive supporting material, including API Swaggers, Postman Collections, and related documentation, all of which are centrally available via the Telstra Developer Portal. This collaborative engagement continues through testing and early operational readiness to identify issues early and support solutions.

Actual results will depend on customer‑specific circumstances, including systems, integration approach, product availability, data accuracy and operational processes. Information made available via the APIs is based on available network and service data at the time of the request. Data may be subject to latency, processing delays, system dependencies or upstream information sources and may not always reflect real‑time conditions.
